The ‘fit for 55’ package, presented in July and December 2021, is designed to realise the European Climate Law objectives: climate neutrality by 2050 and a 55 % reduction of net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, compared with 1990 levels. Today, transport emissions represent around 25% of the EU’s total greenhouse gas emissions, and these emissions have increased over recent years. The goal of being the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 requires ambitious changes in transport. A clear path is needed to achieve a 90% reduction in transport-related greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
For its 80th edition, the Pau Grand Prix plans to confirm its role as a leading showcase for innovation and the new challenges of sustainable mobility. In addition to the top-level international races, the event will host the second edition of the high-level European forum on mobilities, extended to all mobilities with a particular focus on the latest development in low-carbon fuels available for maritime and aviation.
