15-day festival throughout the city
For fifteen days, the Festival will offer a wide range of events in the heart of the city and in many outstanding venues, Palais Beaumont, Hippodrome, Boulevard des Pyrénées, Place Royale, Castle of Pau, English Villas and more.
In addition to partner events, the European Meeting “Objective: Neutrality” will bring together experts and professionals, as well as start-ups in the sector, to reflect on solutions to meet the challenges of the energy transition in mobility.
This first edition, held under the French Presidency of the European Union, will highlight the need to use multiple energies for our mobility in order to meet the objectives of carbon neutrality.
The New Mobility Village (2, 3 & 4 wheels) and the New Energy Laboratory will encourage the public to think about new ways of transport with experimental, game oriented, scientific and educational spaces offering prototypes, simulators, show cars, etc.
Not to mention the graphic and digital art exhibitions, as well as shows and concerts to bring the city’s squares and streets to life.
HIGH-LEVEL FORUM ON THE TRANSITIONS OF MOBILITY
Friday, 6th May 2022
The “Fit for 55 Package” is a particularly ambitious policy and legislative initiative aimed at driving the EU towards its 2050 climate neutrality ambitions. The Commission’s proposals address many areas of the European Union among which Transport is an essential sector.
Transport is the backbone of the European economy and society, but it is also a quarter of EU’s GHG emissions. A successful transition is paramount in order to not jeopardize our economy, our society built on the freedom of movement and the spirit of the European project.
With the adoption of a number of main policy and legislations well underway, time is right to assess whether we are on track to deliver a climate neutral, competitive and socially inclusive transport sector. Are all the building blocks identified, available and operational? What about technologies, raw material and feedstock, investments, infrastructure, public acceptance and the policy framework?
